Rev. Mother Kristina Rake, M.A., M.Div.Director of Vocations & Evangelization, United States Old Catholic ChurchCo-Director of Project Psi, Advisor on Spiritual Sciences and Theological GiftsPastor, Church of the Nativity Old Catholic, Chicago
Rev. Mother Kristina Rake is a priest of the United States Old Catholic Church under Archbishop James Long and is the pastor of the Church of the Nativity in Chicagoland. She served as the director of the paranormal clergy until being promoted to the Office of Vocations and Evangelization for the entire church. Rev. Mother is now in charge of both public relations for the church and is Director of Vocation: guiding, advising, and discerning with those who feel called to the priesthood.
Mother Rake was born into a paranormal world because of several supernatural gifts that she has possessed since infancy.
Because of her gifts-and her calling to the Catholic Priesthood-Mother has dealt with spiritual attacks since she was just a small child. She began studying the numinous, both light and dark, and the occult when she was 10 and has continued those studies until today. She received her Master’s Degree in Theology from the prestigious Andover Newton Theological Seminary and a Master’s of Divinity from St. Mary’s Old Catholic Seminary. Mother Rake has been teaching scripture, theology, and Catholic apologetics to adults for over 15 years. Mother was accepted into the Ph.D. in Particle Physics program at Northern Illinois University, but had to decline because her daughter knocked at the door a month after Mother’s acceptance and a new family would joyfully steal her time.
Mother Rake’s supernatural gifts are varied. She can hear the dead in complete sentences, see perfect scenes, can remote view, can “see” objects around her while blindfolded (including paintings), and can predict the future with astonishing specificity and accuracy. Her most intriguing and “powerful” gift is that of healing.
Brain scans from Harvard University showed her brain functioned in extremely unique ways when she was using her abilities. Various areas of her brain that do not normally function together would do so, at the same time. Since those studies, Mother has sought to find the neurological and biological link to giftedness. In 2015, she partnered with Dr Chuck Kennedy, Ph.D., R.N., a neuroscientist to found Project Psi, a research consortium that studies the biological causes, effects, and connections to psychic medium and other paranormal gifts. Using brain mapping through eeg technology, they have tested over 100 psychic mediums using the Beam 30: a systematic analysis of over 400 biometrics in play during the use of a psychic’s gifts. They will present their findings at the Chicago Ghost Conference in the fall.
Rev. Mother is a cognitive assessment expert and is studying the epistemological grounding and effects of those with psychic medium gifts in an attempt to understand how information is interpreted and what thought process and apparatus is in use when a psychic is trying to process and convey extra sensory information. she studies the ways in which the mind “accesses” extrasensory knowledge and processes it through neurological and epistemological systems in order to communicate said knowledge to others.
She is currently part of several experiments at Project Psi. She is on the Missing Person’s psychic task force and is submitting to tests to understand the brain at prayer, the ways in which God and mysticism change the brain, and healing with Dr. Kennedy, a neuroscientist.
Mother Rake also consults with the Dade County Sheriff’s Detectives to help locate. Issuing teens and investigate crime scenes.
She is currently the theological consultant for A Thousand Words, a documentary about spirit photography and the theology of death, mourning, and the afterlife.
Mother has been featured in online documentaries and articles, is a regular guest on several paranormal and spiritual networks, and is the host of shows on both LiveParanormal.com and Inspireradio.org. Mother Rake also has her own radio network, My Old Catholic Radio on BlogtalkRadio.com, on which she offers uplifting religious and theological shows, including Project PSi Radio: the science of the paranormal every Thursday at 7pm CST.
Mother is the author of hundreds of articles, as well as the popular book, God and the Paranormal: Ghosts, Mediums, and the Afterlife in the Bible and is currently writing a second book in that series about the scientific underpinnings for supernatural events, from biochemistry to cosmology to quantum mechanics.
In the real world, Mother Rake is a writer, an artist, and a public-speaker, having won several awards in all three areas. She is also a member of Mensa and owns her own corporation, for which she writes standardized tests and textbooks for high schools and colleges, as well as personality, competency, and IQ tests. She has worked with international publishers for nearly two decades, composing the SAT, the ACT, the GRE, the PARCC, and innumerable state and corporate tests.
Mother lives in Chicago with her husband of 16 years, Mark, her two human children and her two furry Chihuahua boys. She can be reached at: myoldcatholic@gmail.com or on FB: MyOldCatholic or Rev. Kristina Rake. Her Websites are: www.kristinarake.com and www.myoldcatholicradio.org.
